Pallenge #7 - Masculine Card

Hi folks! It's been awhile since I've updated the blog but it's not because I haven't been crafty, it's because I've been lazy. I just haven't been up to the task of taking pictures, editing, and writing posts (I know like all those things are SO hard to do). I've got lots of stuff to share so make sure you check out my other posts from today.
This card was done for Pallenge #7 from the Papertrey Pals. Sue Ann wanted us to make a masculine project so I decided to work on my stash of boy birthday cards.  My son is always invited to parties for his classmates or teammates and I never have anything ready.  I cheated last time and just bought a card (and it wasn't even Hallmark).
I decided to use the large airplane from Becky's stamp set Fly Away as my focal image. So easy to stamp and for $5 Im definitely getting my money's worth. I also used a Little Argyle along the bottom of the image as a way to add more color to the card. The sentiment is from Birthday Basics in a non-cursive, non-scrolly font. It's a man-ly man font (doing the Tim Allen grunt here). On the side, I added a button to a scrap of grosgrain ribbon folded over like a tab. No stupid bow to fiddle around with!
While I had all my supplies out, I made 10 of these cards using the same design but changed up the background paper and colors. Now I'll have these on hand and ready to go for the next party Jacob gets invited to. ;o)
Thanks for stopping by and having a lookie!

  3. Great to see you posting again Nadine. At least you've been creating in the meantime. I can't say the same. I think this is a great masculine card. Just the right amount of ribbon for a guy card too. You'll be so glad you have a stash of these adorable cards.
