Guri-guri!!

Yesterday I decided to take the kids to the south-side of the island and visit Baby Makapuu Beach. It's about a 45 minute drive from where I live so definitely considered a "road trip." By the time we got there, Teia was squirming and whining in her car seat. But it was so worth it!

It was a beautiful day and we spent the entire morning there. Jacob swam out and explored the reef, Teia splashed in the tidepools, and I sunbathed while watching the paragliders above the cliffs nearby. Lucky to live Hawaii!

Before driving ALL the way back home, we had shrimp plates from the lunchwagon by the side of the road and guri-guri (ice cream) from this stand.

Guri-guri (pronounced goodie-goodie) is like an ice cream but with a softer texture (kinda like a sherbert). I've never seen a place here on Oahu that sells it but everytime I go to Maui, I make sure to stop by Tasaka's whenever I can. The kids loved it (of course!) and it was gone in two-seconds flat.

The owners were super nice with lots of aloha. They told me that they're open on the weekends and holidays. They even come out and do luaus and reunions!

Hope you guys had a great weekend too!
