California Trip - Itinerary

Warning folks! The next few posts will be about my California trip and not crafty related. So feel free to come back at a later time or you can scroll down and relive it with me...

Awhile ago, my friends and I decided to plan a trip for "just the girls."  We've been working hard at being mommies, wives, and employees so it was time to treat ourselves to some time away. We picked Napa Valley and San Francisco as a perfect getaway for three gals bustin' loose.

ITINERARY:
Day one - Arrive at SFO airport at 9pm and drive to Napa Valley. Find an In-N-Out Burger pronto! Check in at hotel. Get some rest.
Day two - Visit wineries. Try not to get drunk at all the different wine tastings. Learn how to spit and not swallow. Im talking about the wine, people! 2pm spa and mud bath reservations at Calistoga. 5pm dinner reservations at The Wine Spectator Greystone Restaurant
Day three - Visit more wineries. Tentative dinner plans to try Ubuntu. Though two out of three of our party are wondering why we would want to eat in a yoga studio…
Day four - Hot air balloon ride if weather allows. Find another winery to visit. Dinner reservations at Ad Hoc because we can't afford dinner at French Laundry in this lifetime.
Day five - Check out of hotel. Drive to San Francisco stopping at Muir Woods along the way. Check in at San Francisco hotel. Dinner reservations at Slanted Door.
Day six - Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building. Visit Fisherman's Wharf for clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls and salt-water taffy. See the wild parrots of Telegraph Hill and visit Coit Tower. Find the bookstore City Lights. Dinner reservations at Cafe Zuni for the roast chicken.
Day seven - Experience Gay Pride Parade. Scrub our eyeballs and cleanse our souls at the De Young museum. Dinner reservations at Gary Danko to get Maria to try fois grae.
Day eight - I want some muy authentico tacos and burritos from Mission District. Get dim sum from Chinatown.  Dinner reservations at Jardiniere. Explode.
Day nine - Say goodbye to California, return home, and get lots of hugs & kisses from our families.

As you can probably tell, the itinerary is very food oriented. We decided to expand our culinary repertoire and try our best to come home at least 50 lbs. heavier…

  2. I love San Francisco! We went there for our honeymoon (a friend zoomed us down Lombard Street!) and even if it's an airport stop at 10 in the morning, we scarf down clam chowder! Thanks for sharing!
