Santa Bucket

Hi everyone! I know I've been MIA from blogland but the "blogger" in me took a hiatus and only now came back.  In the meantime, I've been getting my crafty-crafty on and have lots to share. Since Im in the mood, Im gonna write up all my posts now and schedule them to post throughout the month so there's not such a long break in between. ;o)

I found this tutorial on SCS for a bucket-shaped holder using the Sizzix pillowbox die. I used the template to make Santa's overalls (there are other examples you can see over at the SCS gallery).
I wanted to give the bucket some texture so I used PTI's Linen & Canvas impression plate on the "pants" and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder on the shirt. The buckle is silver cardstock cut out with my Labels One nesties and a square of black cs. I made the tag from PTI's Tiny Treats: Christmas. I picked the santa image to match my bucket.

This ended up being an adorable project but I wouldn't think about mass producing this. I had to prep six of them for my monthly crafting club and that was a lot of cranking on the Cuttlebug! Good thing I had free child slave labor (my son Jacob). So unless you have a willing victim to turn the handles of your die-cutting machine, I would make this for that special someone who will appreciate all the hard work you put into it. ;o)

Also wanted to add that this project is for the latest challenge posted by Monica on the Papertrey Pals challenge blog. Its an embossing challenge and you were to use dry embossing on your project. Great challenge Monica!

Thanks for coming by to visit!
