In memory of Steven, I made sympathy cards for his oncologist, Dr. Ian Okazaki, who treated him and our family with such kindness and compassion. When Steven passed away, he sent a lovely card signed by himself and the ladies of the office. I was quite touched and thought he should surely have handmade ones to send out.
The image is from Life and sentiment is from Out on a Limb Sentiments (both stamp sets available from PTI). The embossing is from my cuttlebug folder Textile, Textile. I then used my scor-pal to make the double lines separating the embossing from the image. The butterflies are from my Martha Stewart punch. I wanted to make sure the cards didn't have a lot of bulk since they would be mailed out. Embossing folders are a great way to add detail without adding more layers.
I got the idea from a card I saw at the SCS gallery. Unfortunately I didn't save the image so I cannot give credit to the person who inspired me. I apologize and if this is you please let me know because I definitely want to give due credit!!
I have more sympathy cards to share and will be posting them soon. Once again and always, thank you for coming by to visit.
