Today is my friend Billy's birthday. He's Maria's husband but more importantly he was a good friend to my husband Steve and a great father figure to my kids. He is my go to guy when I need a girl's night out with his wife or when I need to threaten Jacob with bodily punishment for teasing his sister. He's also the only guy that Teia likes to prank call. ; )
I made this card using a sketch from Unscripted Sketches #72 and some patterned paper from Little Yellow Bicycle. The image is from Fly Away and sentiment is from Enjoy the Ride (both stamp sets available at PTI). Added some rustic jute twine and called it a day.
The airplane image was colored with Copics last night while I was babysitting for Maria and Billy. So while my kids and their kids were trashing the garage, I was happily transported away from the noise and commotion with my crafting. Don't you just love this hobby? ; )
Happy Birthday Uncle Billlll-wwwweeeee! We love you!

Yes it is amazing how this can transport you away from all the nonsense going on with kids....... that is probably how Anton ended up with a haircut from Emma :) Great card and I bet Billy will love it...... you are such a nice girl Nadine!!!
ReplyDeleteFun card Nadine! I love the airplane and twine on the mat stack die. I wouldn't have thought to use the die cut that way. Happy Birthday to Billy!
ReplyDeleteVery nice masculine card Nadine. I love Fly Away, in fact used it myself yesterday. I haven't tried coloring it with copics though. You did a really good job on the shading. Mat Stack #3 is my absolute favorite.

ReplyDeleteA great use of Mat Stack 3 too!
