On Saturday after CHA, we checked out of our Rosemont hotel and went to our new hotel located in Downtown Chicago. Here's some pictures of our evening:
Having dinner with my PFF's (Papertrey Forum Friends) at Portillos. Sara (on the far left) is the other Hawaii chick who happens to be living in Indiana now. She ordered me the Italian Beef with peppers. Uummmm, my stomach is growling right now remembering it.
The three Hawaii chicks. It was such a pleasure meeting Sara! She was so fun and comfortable to be with. Maria and I liked her right away. I wish we were able to spend more time with her. On her next visit to the islands, we're gonna have a girl's night out.
After dinner at Portillos and saying goodbye to the PFF's, Maria and I went to Buddy Guys Legends bar to listen to blue's music. It was kind of crowded and full of tourists, but as soon as you walked in and heard the harmonica and music it just felt so blue-sy.
Sorry, a really bad picture but this is the Japanese girl Yoko who absolutely rocked the harmonica. Here in Hawaii we see Japanese tourists all the time but hadn't seen any in Chicago, so we were surprised to spot her sitting in the crowd. The band then called her to the stage and she blew us away how she played the harmonica. Then she sang for a few minutes, and we were so unblown away. Then she did the harmonica thing again, and we were blown away.
Sorry another bad pic. This is the bass player and I forgot his name. He gave me his phone number, facebook page, and his email address. I then "lost" the slip of paper he wrote it down on. Then he got on the stage and did that funky, sexy plucking of the guitar and I desperately tried to find the paper again. Tip to all the guys out there, it's much more impressive if the gal knows you're a band member BEFORE you hit on her.
Me and Maria after a few drinks. Yes, we're tanked. Very, very tanked. Maria claims I had at least 5 Amaretto Sours but I don't know how she was keeping track when she had at least that many Hennessy & Grand Marniers.
Thanks again for coming to visit my blog. Stay tuned for Day Four soon. Im trying to write these up as fast as I can but sometime's it's hard for me to get into that frame of mind to do the blogpost. You know, the one where you're not thinking about work, or how you haven't mopped the floors in at least a week, and how that pile of laundry is calling your name. So thank you for being patient and coming back.
Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing your photos with us!
