Tonight's the night for Papertrey's Blog Hop! This is the time to show our appreciation for the Design Team by finding a project that was especially inspirational to you. Well you know I couldn't find one particular project so I decided to choose one stamp set and try to recreate the cards from the gallery. I chose Through the Trees because I was blown away by all the different techniques showcased during the release. Here's are my attempts to recreate their magic:
The original: Betsy Veldman's lovely onesie card. Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush, and Spring Moss are usually not colors that I use together but I love how she makes them work!
Mine:
The original: Becky Oehler''s card using clear cardstock and embossing powder. I loved Becky's tip of cutting a slit in the corners of the Smokey Shadow cs so no adhesive is needed on the clear cs.
Mine:
The original: Heather Nichol's beautiful softly colored sympathy card. It's hard to tell from the picture but the "sky" is brayered with Spring Rain ink and the "ground" is brayered with Spring Moss ink. There is a step by step tutorial on her blog.
The original: Niki Estes' emboss resist card that is sponged to create this cool night time effect.
And mine:
The original: Debbie Olsen's card with the rolling hilltop created out of Spring Moss cardstock and the two-colored green leaves.
Mine:
The original: Last but not least Nichole Heady's white embossing on Sand Stone cardstock. Clean, classic, PTI style!
And here's mine:
By recreating what was available in the gallery I tried so many new, different techniques. I also used new color combinations and card sizes that I normally shy away from. I am absolutely blown away by the talent of the PTI Design Team! Thank you for sharing your work and talent, you guys inspire me daily!
Forgive me but Im too exhausted to write the supply list out. If anyone has any questions or would like to know what I used, please leave me a comment and I will get back to you. Thanks for looking!
