Whew! Im up! Experiencing some technical difficulties but I've got it worked out now.
Welcome to today's post for Sister Stamps Release #5! Today's lovely image is named Yoshimi and was released to be used for Girl's Day (March 3rd) or for any occasion really!
For this card, I paper-pieced Yoshimi with washi paper. I love using this kind of paper! Besides having beautiful designs, the paper is very thin and lies flat on your image. I shaded the pieces with my C1 and C3 markers to give it a little depth.
Here's a close-up of Yoshimi:
I also made a matching favor box:
The box is from PTI's Favor It #5 die and the sentiment from Tranquility Trilogy. Im a little ashamed to admit that this is the first time I've used this die and set. When it was first released, I just HAD to have it and then it sat unloved until now. But geez, what was I waiting for? It's sooooo easy to put together and decorate! And for all my Hawaii friends out there, this box fits one packet of Enjoy's Mochi Maru or several Island Cravings Fancy Japan Mix Candy (both available at Longs)!
It's been an honor to be a Guest Designer for this release! A big mahalo to Jenny for letting me play with these wonderful images. I can definitely see me using them throughout the year!
Don't forget to stop on over to the Sister Stamps and Debi's blog for a chance to win your very own Sister Stamps!

ReplyDeleteWow! Your paper piecing and coloring are awesome on that card! I really like the embossing as well- dont think I have ever seen that pattern before. Just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWOW your colouring is fantastic...and these images are so cute. I have been looking for a few days and just had to comment :)
ReplyDeleteSimply fabulous colouring! I love the colours sort of remind me of green tea, which is quite relevant to the stamp ;) Love the Asian theme embossing folder too! And I do love how shiny and black Yoshimi's hair is. Excellent attention to detail and patterns on her kimono... You are very talented!! I can't love this more and so glad I clicked your link on PTI forums :)
