This card is for my friend Carlos. He's a super nice guy hiding behind a very machismo exterior. So I thought I'd poke a little fun at him by adding the sentiment "Over the Hill" on the license plate (hee-hee).
This is another card I CASE'd from Laurie. I told you she was a fabulous designer. She inspires me constantly. The car image is from PTI's Enjoy the Ride and I used clear embossing powder with my woodgrain stamp for the background. The lemon tart dotti biscotti envelope liner matches the strip added on the card.
I thought I'd share a memory about Carlos that I hold close to my heart. The day that my husband passed away, Carlos had come to the hospice to visit him not having any idea that I just received the devastating news from the nurse that Steve's time was coming very soon. Even though we'd expected it, I was not ready for it to be that day. I walked out of the room so Steve wouldn't see me losing it. Carlos was walking down the hallway and I just collapsed into his arms. I was hysterical but he just held me until I calmed down. He made sure that I called my friend Maria so she could come down and be with me. He stayed with us for the rest of the day and I am still grateful for the way he handled the situation. Happy birthday Carlos. I may poke fun at you all the time but I really appreciate knowing you. You're a great guy and a great friend.
