I made this Christmas tag for the Caardvarks challenge: Christmas Tags and Minis. I actually made it earlier in the month but Im only now getting around to posting it. ;oP
The tag shape was die cut from my SU! Two Tags die with silver cardstock and clear cardstock. I then stamped the "Peace" on the silver cs with clear embossing powder and Enchanted Evening ink. I used the embossing powder to set it since the cs is glossy and the ink will easily smear. On the clear cs, I stamped the snowflakes with white Staz-On ink and embellished with clear rhinestones that I colored with my Copics marker. Finished it off with satin ribbon and a button tied off with silver cord.
Here's another pic to give you a better idea of how the clear cs is layered on the silver.
This was a fun challenge to get my creative juices flowing. Now if only I could get motivated to make more so I'll have them ready and on hand by Christmas!

ReplyDeleteOh my! This is so pretty! I love those snowflakes on teh clear CS! Gorgeous Nadine!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this is sooo lovely! :) Love that you placed the acrylic over the silver cardstock! So elegant and classy! (Also, wanted to get back to you on the question you asked on my blog. I used the B0000 to color the sky and then I had B21 that I used to slightly outline the turtle. I ran the B0000 over the outline to merge it in more. And then with the colorless blender, I blended the edges of the sky to make it blur more. I was thinking I might do a more step by step next time -- it didn't occur to me this time! Hope that makes sense). Anyways, LOVE LOVE LOVE this card! Didn't mean to take so much space but I don't think I have your email. :)
ReplyDeleteNadine, I love how you used the acrylic over the cardstock - that is such a terrific idea. I also love the color combo that you chose. The button looks great too!
