Patchwork Scrapwork Card

Nichole Heady did a post at the beginning of the year challenging everyone to use their scraps.  I saw this tutorial from Jessica Witty (PTI's guest designer) and just knew I could make one too.  Don't you love it when you are so inspired you have to give it a try right away?

I took out my folder of scraps and used the Basic Grey Sultry paper that I have been "saving" for quite some time now.  I struggle with coordinating different patterned papers so I made sure to use the same company, same line.    Makes it much easier!

I then followed Jessica's very easy to do tutorial.  She has step-by-step instructions and lots of pictures.  Once I had assembled the "patchwork" I decided to use my Label 8 nesties to "shape" it.  (One thing to note - my Cuttlebug did not go through all the layers so I had to use my scissors to cut it out.  No biggie since the lines were there for me to follow.)  I then used the next larger size nestie and cut out a pink mat (again from my scrap folder) to frame the patchwork.

This is a close up of the tag I used on my button.  It's from Stampin Up! Tiny Tags that I punched out with the new style punch.  This set was a Christmas gift from my SIL - Sharilyn.  I was thrilled to receive it especially since it's the new clear-mounts SU is offering.  This is a very cute set and those tiny tags will work great with my huge button collection!

Thanks for looking!

  10. Oh way to use your scraps! This is gorgeous! Totally justifies keeping the smallest of scraps if you can make something this pretty from them!
