For Dawn's challenge we had to use the colors yellow, aqua, chocolate, and cream in a card. For the Passion for Papertrey challenge we had to emboss it. So here's my take on both challenges:
The card is embossed with the Flourished Frame Cuttlebug folder. I "colored" the background by inking one side of the EF with my Aqua Mist inkpad before running it through the machine. The new hybrid pigment ink formula by PTI is fabulous for this technique! It "smooshed" wonderfully.
The butterflies are from Verve. They had a sale at the beginning of the year and I thought I'd give them a try. I couldn't resist the shape of these fluttering beauties! My stamping purchases are usually PTI - there's so much on my wishlist that Im not tempted to spend my money elsewhere. But hey the sale was calling my name!
It took me fooorrrevvver to make this card! Im totally drained and my desk is a mess with all my drafts and try-outs. It really is just easier for me to case a card…but nothing matches the satisfaction of knowing that I did this myself!! So thank you Dawn for having these challenges, it makes me push myself to put in the extra effort! ;o)

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card. The butterflies are really nice. Sometimes cards take a long time to get "just right" I just looked at your PTI gallery and was wondering how you made the matching pens for the notepads in clear packaging during Dec.? They are so cute and I would like to make some myself. I'vd been enjoying your blog, too. Cathy http://emptynestcrafter.blogspot.com
