I began by stamping the heart wreath image with my PTI dye ink and using a damp brush over it to give it a watercolor effect. I then added a darker color with my brush to give it some shading. I continued to layer more images and going over it with my brush to build the wreath. When everything was dry, I stamped my sentiment to complete it. I kept the card CAS (and flat!) by not adding any bulky embellishments. Easy to create and more importantly…easy to mail! I decided to make a couple more in different colors.
Although I like how my final images came out, I think it was more due to how fabulous the stamp set is rather than my watercolor technique, lol. I definitely need to practice more. I'd love to have one of my watercolor cards come out like this one from Dawn Woleslage. She's just amazing and has some video tutorials on her blog if you'd like to check them out for yourself.
