CPS (Day 8) and PTI's 5th Anniversary Challenges

This is my second post today. If you'd like to see the pocket holder card I made for CPS Day 7 sketch, please scroll down.

In addition to CPS celebrating it's 5th Anniversary, Papertrey Ink is turning 5 also! The challenge posted at PTI was to pick a team member to use as an inspiration for your own project. At one time or another, all of the design team (and Nichole herself) have been my inspiration so it was hard to choose just one.

I decided to go with Maile Belles because I so admire her Clean and Simple style. I find the CAS look very hard to pull off and when I look at Maile's work I am awestruck by the creative use of her supplies and space on a card.
And here's my card:

I'd like to take this time to say that because of Maile, I have purchased sets that I had absolutely no intentions of purchasing. For example:

Tranquility Trilogy - wasn't even on my radar until I saw this card where she used clear embossing on a white base.  Just had to have it after seeing this!

Bells and Boughs - Totally wasn't getting this set, don't I have enough Xmas sets already? Well guess what, bought it.

Mat Stack 5 Collection - I thought having the dies would be enough and I wouldn't need the stamps too. Wrong! Look how she made her own pattern using the building elements included in the set. Genius!

Gracious Vases - Well ok, I was going to buy this set anyways because I LOVED that little orchid flower and the font. But after seeing this card, I just knew I HAD to HAVE it.

Besides Nichole, I think she is the person I most want to be like when I grow up - never mind that Im at least twice her age (take a look at her profile picture - you'll know what I mean. I think she's all of 19 years old.)!

Happy 5th Anniversary PTI. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us!

Im entering this card into the following challenges:

  3. I'm right there with you! I agree 100% about Maile's influence on my purchasing, too. I'm going to pretend that she could be my little sister, even though I'm probably older than her mother. I love your rainbow card! Heading off to pin it right now, in fact!
